March Wrap Up Book Haul

Hi guys! Wow, it's been ages since I've done an actual book haul post. Mainly because I've been busy and perhaps a tad lazy. But I'm super excited to share the latest additions to my beloved book collection! I got quite a few hardbacks, so I decided to have a little bit of fun...

Can anyone guess what books I got based off their undressed covers?

Any guesses? No? Here's an easier clue. You can actually see the spines!

Easier? Is the lighting bad for a few of them? How's this?

Mystery solved! But seriously, how's that for pretty? We so rarely display the spines of undressed books! I mean, just look at the range of colours. What I love is that they look great both with and without their jacket covers! Absolutely stunning!

Aren't they all simply gorgeous together? I'm in love with every single one of them! Here's an official list:

Rebel of Sands by Alwyn Hamilton: this book blew me away. I had borrowed it to read, and an hour after I finished it, I bought it. This book is amazing, with sharpshooters, djinnis, traditional culture and folklore, everything. Easily on my top debut books of 2016!

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: after waiting and waiting and waiting, Clare's newest book is out, and I finally have a copy! I actually bought it a while ago, but I had no other books to do a book haul post. I'm more than excited to delve back into the Shadow world, and get to know the new cast of characters!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: let's just talk about those black stained pages. That alone is incentive to buy the book. It is a gorgeous masterpiece, and that's just the cover! The story about a rag-tag team of 6 pulling off an impossible heist. I'm not joking when I say it's impossible, which makes the entire book pure brilliance!

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine: this book, along with Lady Midnight, is on my top 5 most anticipated books of 2016. This is also the part where I send out the biggest heartful thanks to my amazing friend Cody for gifting it to me. Words cannot express my gratitude, Cody. You are the absolute best! I love you so much and this book. This book will forever be treasured and treated with all the respect it rightfully deserves. I mean, just look at that reflective spine! <3

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows: this book really spoke to me when I first read it. The book is about a young queen who puts on facade after facade in order to infiltrate, and win back, her stolen throne. But what happens when you get to the point where you're always someone different, and you can't tell which is the real you? It's a question I absolutely love. This book is amazing, and it pulls at my heartstrings in all the right ways. And has anyone seen the cover to the next book? It's absolutely gorgeous!

And there you have it! My five newest editions to my book collection. What books did you guys get recently? Have you read any of the ones I got?

  6. What a great haul, ohhh my god! I'm actually so curious about Lady Midnight and thought about buying it myself but ... I haven't read ANY other book by Cassandra Clare, so I'm not even sure if it's a good idea. Would I be too confused? I DON'T KNOW. It makes me very curious though, ugh.

Also, YAY for Rebel of the Sands and Six of Crows - SUCH AMAZING BOOKS! And they look so pretty as well! I adore both covers/books and am so glad you do too, haha. ♥

    1. I think you should start with City of Bones, and then read Lady Midnight! It's set 5 years after the finale, after all. But I definitely recommend the series!
YES, Rebel of the Sands and Six of Crows are absolutely amazing books! And the covers are devastatingly gorgeous, so it's a perfect mix :)

I've only read and loved "The Orphan Queen" so far, but I'm definitely looking forward to reading the other ones you got! They've been on my tbr list for so long that I'm suffering. I haven't gotten any new books in months (since November/December and it was for Christmas, BUT I did got the 4th volume of Tokyo Ghoul recently so I'm happy about that one.

    Anyway, great post! x

    1. I know! So few people actually do pictures of dust covers. They're absolutely gorgeous!
I may or may not be guilty of simply staring and perhaps stroking SoC, I mean how can I not? It's absolutely gorgeous, you can't NOT pick it up and stroke the cover!
And really, I should be thanking YOU for the Shadow Queen. That book sits proudly on my shelf like the queen it is ;)
