Graceling Read Along: Fire Begins!

Hi everyone! I hope you've all been reading the Graceling series with Caroline of Just Another Bookish Blog and I! If you're new, don't worry about it. We just finished up Graceling, and today we're moving onto the second book, Fire!

Like with Graceling, we'll be spending two weeks on Fire with fun posts along the way, as well as a review. Bitterblue will start on May 16th. Also, don't forget the fan art competition! You can do anything you want, and to enter, all you have to do is either tag Caroline on Instagram with #gracelingreadalongART or send it to justanotherpageinbetween@gmail.com (credit to Caroline for the clever email address! I mean, how brilliant is she?) The deadline for it is the second week of our Bitterblue read along.

No worries if you're just joining us now! Two weeks is plenty of time to catch up on both Graceling and Fire. Hope you'll all join, and happy reading!

It is not a peaceful time in the Dells. The young King Nash clings to his throne while rebel lords in the north and south build armies to unseat him. The mountains and forests are filled with spies and thieves and lawless men.

This is where Fire lives. With a wild, irresistible appearance and hair the color of flame, Fire is the last remaining human monster. Equally hated and adored, she had the unique ability to control minds, but she guards her power, unwilling to steal the secrets of innocent people. Especially when she has so many of her own.

Then Prince Brigan comes to bring her to King City, The royal family needs her help to uncover the plot against the king. Far away from home, Fire begins to realize there's more to her power than she ever dreamed. Her power could save the kingdom.

If only she weren't afraid of becoming the monster her father was.
