It's been...a very long time since I've done a tag. I'm sorry to everyone who tagged me, but when the summer started, I was on a read-all-the-books-I-can-get-my-hands-on-and-write-reviews wave. It's definitely time for me to go back to basics now!
Thank you to Zoey from Magiverse for tagging me for the Musical Book Tag! I love musicals and broadway. Love, love, love them, even though I haven't been to many. But of those I have gone to, The Lion King and The Phantom of the Opera are at a tie for my favourites!
Let's get started :)
1. Wicked: Favourite Fictional Friendship
Starting off with one of the hardest questions to ask a bookworm, are we? It's the same difficulty level as asking for favourite book or my OTP. There are just so many! I'm going to have to go with the friendship between Feyre and all the members of Rhysand's Inner Circle in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Yes, it's more than one friendship, but I can't just pick one of them. To be fiercely loyal out of friendship, to be willing to give up everything for any one of them at any moment's notice... Honestly, those should be everyone's friendship goals.
Another one that is popping into mind are Kady and AIDAN from Illuminae. That's a friendship, right? Someone tell me it's a friendship. Human and computer. Those two didn't quite hit it off at the start, but it grew into something special. As in, no other book can re-create that kind of friendship!
2. Sweeney Todd: Favourite Villain
3. The Phantom of the Opera: Favourite Love Triangle
Umm, probably Meghan, Ash, and Puck from The Iron Fey series. Just because everyone leaves on good terms, and it's not as messed up as some other love triangles in my opinion. Or Tessa, Will, and Jem from The Infernal Devices, because that love triangle was like none other and extremely heart-wrenching to read about!
4. The Lion King: Favourite Sidekick
Iko (The Lunar Chronicles). Grimalkin (The Iron Fey). Zwi (Steel and Stone). Seraphina (Eragon). I don't know! Oddly enough, all my favourite sidekicks aren't human...
5. Grease: Least Favourite Ending
White Rabbi Chronicles by Gena Showalter. I was left going...what? That was the end? There were way too many loose ends for my liking. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I feel...
6. Matilda: Favourite Book Adaptation
Funny thing, book adaptations. You either love them or hate them. However, the Harry Potter series movie adaptation is forever to be one of my favourites. Who doesn't love Harry Potter? Way better than a lot of other attempted (and failed) movies.
7. Les Miserables: Favourite Death in a Book
I think Queen Levana's from The Lunar Chronicles takes the prize for this one! Just because of the events leading up it. And how she actually died. It was all very satisfying for me!
And that's it! I'm on a slight time crunch, so I don't really have time to tag people, but feel free to do this one if you're interested! Just let me know in the comments if you do choose to do it :)
These are all great answers! I agree with so many of them! I think Tessa, Will and Jem are the ultimate love triangle, because no other was so difficult and angsty to read about! To this day, I still ship her with both of them, because I can't make up my mind. Ah yes, Iko! She's the perfect sidekick, and I love how Cinder still acknowledges her even after gaining so much power. Most of the time, the sidekicks in books kind of fade into the background. Luckily, not in the Lunar Chronicles!

Agreed! Tessa, Will, and Jem are like no other love triangle. I mean, that relationship transcended every love triangle trope in existence!
DeleteYES, Iko! I love love love her. I was so happy that Iko got her fair share of page time, since she's such a great character!
Ooh I agree with so many of them! The Darkling is definitely one of my favorite villain. Herongraystairs in life. And reading your answers give me a lot of Iron Fey feels Erika, I want to re-read them NOW xD
ReplyDeleteOh my god, yes! All the Iron Fey FEELS. I might die from the overwhelming overload!
DeleteI just wrote a whole entire comment and is disappeared! Whyyyyy??
ReplyDeleteAnyways, the dynamic between Kady and AIDAN were amazing! I wouldn't call their relationship a friendship, but it was one of my favorite aspects of the book. I didn't know that the Iron Fey series had a love triangle. I own the majority of the series, but I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Iko! She's my favorite sidekick to date! Did you read the fourth book in the White Rabbit Chronicles? Many think the series only has three books, so I'm just wondering. I thought the fourth book tied up a lot of loose ends the third left hanging. I've so far haven't met anyone who doesn't like the Harry Potter movies. They're so well done! I think they're my favorite adaption as well.
And I'm sorry to do this, but I tagged you in the Book Sacrifice Tag! You just got one down and then I go and tag you. XD No rush, obviously!
Oh no! It disappeared? What happened? WHY, TECHNOLOGY, WHY?
DeleteHaha, you're right Kady and AIDAN aren't really friends, but they were my favourite part of the book! Yes, Iko! She's amazing :)
Thanks for the tag! I'll get to it asap ;)
This is so fun! I love musicals. Next time I am looking for a tag to do I may have to try this one. I totally agree on Harry Potter movie adaptations being so good. They cut out a lot but it still worked really well. And your villains are great, especially The Darking and the Commandant. They are fantastic villains.
ReplyDeleteCassi @ My Thoughts Literally
Thanks, Cassi! I agree, the Harry Potter adaptations cut out a lot from the book (every time I watch them, I feel obligated to comment out loud what was supposed to happen or a line they were supposed to say), but I still love them! Haha, thank you, you can't say I don't know how to pick my villains ;)
DeleteYAY, you did this tag! :D
ReplyDeleteYou know, sometimes... I wonder if the kind of friendships in books that we so love and admire are actually honestly possible in real life.
Because if so, I was never blessed in such friendship :O
OMG LOL, Kady and AIDAN! That's *definitely* a friendship. What better friendship is there? From enemies to allies to best friends... they're perfect :')
There shall not be a friendship quite like theirs, for sure.
I'm dying to see more of them in Gemina!
Sebastian and the Darkling! I love them... err, hate them, I mean. Totally hate them. In a favorite kind of way.
Meghan, Ash and Puck! How could I forget about their love-triangle?! Definitely one of my favorites too. In a love triangle, I usually hate one of the people involved. Like, in a love triangle between a girl and two boys, I end up hating one of the boys, shipping the girl with the other one and getting frustrated at the girl for not making it clear who she wants.
But with Meghan & Ash & Puck... I loved them all so freaking much. Not to mention: Puck! I love him. I felt to bad for him. And I'm still desperatly hoping for him to get his own spin-off - don't he deserve it?
Iko is such a fantastic sidekick. I always loved the whole robots that can feel trope. Like AIDAN and Iko and also in the book Willful Machines (:
Great take on this tag! I loved reading your answers! :D
Thank you so much for tagging me! :D
DeleteI really want to believe that the friendships characters have are in fact possible to have in real life! Of course, like you, I don't friendships even remotely close to what character have. But fingers crossed that one day, we will...
YES, someone agrees that Kady and AIDAN have a friendship going on! It's both complicated yet simple at the same time. It's unique, for sure!
I felt the same way with The Iron Fey! Normally I dislike one of the characters, but I loved Puck and really wanted to see him happy. And we get to see that Puck doesn't end up in that weird place after Meghan picks Ash.
Ooh this is such a neat idea! :D I’ll give it a go sometime this week, for sure! I deffinetly consider whatever was going on between Kady and AIDAN to be friendship, they worked together super well! :)
