Almost Summer Bookhaul!

Hi guys!

So, the sun is shining over here (mostly...it's been rainy these past few days). And what does the sun make me want to do?

Now, the standard answer would be "buy books to read outside." However, if you've been sticking around with me for these past 2 years, you'll know that I'm an interesting person in the sense I dislike the heat. So when the sun is bright and the temperatures are bringing to soar, for me it's the absolutely perfect weather to be sprawled out comfortably in my room, nose buried in a book. (Please believe me when I say I have good reasons for disliking heat.)

Regardless! Sun = perfect time to read books = books = book haul!

So without further ado (no games this time either, as fun as it was last time), allow me to present my latest beauties :)

Autumn Bookhaul!

From my October TBR post, I explained why I love October so much. Autumn in general is my favourite time of the year, for various reasons (SO MANY NEW RELEASES, leaves change colour, I can break out some stylish jackets and hats, etc.). One of them also happens to be my birthday, which (unsurprisingly) I always use as an excuse to buy myself some more books!

I will admit I got a bit carried away taking pictures of my new books. But I couldn't help it, and decided to do another one of my book haul guessing sessions. Can any of you guess what I got strictly off what the pages look like? Go on, give it your best shot!

Summer Book Haul!

Hi guys!

So, summer is now in full swing. I've been spending all my free time indoors (I know, I know, but just wait!) doing...you guessed it, reading!
Which, if this post title doesn't give it away, means I've also been busy buying new books in the past few weeks!

Since it would absolutely rude of me to tell you all about my new books but not share them with you, here they are:

Allow me the pleasure of telling you more about them:

Mini Book Haul: Firsts!

I buy normal books. I rarely pre-order special edition ones, or do any of those neat personalized things. Physical arcs are non-existent, given the competition here for arcs.

Which is why this book haul is one that is dear to me. It is one of many (well, just two) firsts.

My new beauties:

Yes, it's just three, but I've wanted to share it with you guys anyways. The only question: where is The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows??? I need that book! There are only a few copies here, which made for a very sad trip to the bookstore, so I'm going to order a fresh one online. Soon. Soon!!!

Anyways. Did anyone catch the sticker on my copy of A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah Maas? No? Let's take a closer look:

March Wrap Up Book Haul

Hi guys! Wow, it's been ages since I've done an actual book haul post. Mainly because I've been busy and perhaps a tad lazy. But I'm super excited to share the latest additions to my beloved book collection! I got quite a few hardbacks, so I decided to have a little bit of fun...

Can anyone guess what books I got based off their undressed covers?

October Book Haul!

Allow me to be giddy as I show you my newest babies. Birthdays are great, you know? :D

MY PRECIOUSSS.

Magnus Chase and The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan: Norse mythology, set in modern-day Boston. Plus, it's Rick Riordan. Need I say more? (You can read my review here)

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli: this is the most heartwarming book I've ever read. Seriously. It's definitely going on my list of best books I've ever read! Read it, guys, you won't regret it! (You can read my review here)

The Iron Warrior by Julie Kagawa: MY FEELS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE RIGHT NOW. Because it's the LAST book in the Iron Fey series, like ever. I can't bare it. I can't. If this blog doesn't have any activity for a while, it's going to be because I'm in a huge book hangover over this book.

The Immortal Heights by Sherry Thomas: this is a truly epic fantasy series! I can't wait to read this last book. After that epic war declaration in the last book, I'm super excited to see what happens! Mages, blade wands, London, dragons, blood spells, you name it, this series has it!

I also got Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined by Stephanie Meyer, but I don't physically have it with me at the moment, and thus didn't make it into the picture. (Review and discussion here)

And that's it! What books did you guys get this month? Have you guys read any of these before? (I recommend them all!)

Summer Wrap Up Book Haul

I've bought books one at a time throughout this summer, and I didn't feel like they were individually important or exciting enough to tell you guys. But August is over, and I have enough books to make a book haul-ish post, so here we go!

Witness: my summer acquires!

Summer Solstice Book Haul

Whoo hoo! What better way to kick off summer than new books? :D
Eeeek, I'm so excited!!!

Defiance by C. J. Redwine: As if I haven't preached enough about this author's writing! I borrowed the first book from the library, then loved it so much that I bought the second (review) and third book (review) to read. I was missing the first book in my collection, but now, I have the complete trilogy to one of my absolutely favourite series!

The Heir by Kiera Cass: I actually went to the bookstore the day this book came out, but only the softcover version of this book was on sale. I'm normally not picky about my books, but as I have the previous three Selection books in hardcover, I wanted to keep the series covers consistent. Thus I had to wait a bit before I got the hardcover. But oh well. It's super pretty, and I can't wait to read it! (You can read my review on The Selection here)

Crash by Eve Silver: This book. It's the very final book to The Game series, which is hands down one of my favourite series. I'm a little scared to read it, because I really don't want it to end, but at the same time, I'm dying to find out what happens. Tons of action, a kick-butt heroine, and, of course, Jackson Tate. Jackson. Tate. Enough said. My heart has just been thrown out window, so I must go collect it now. (Review on Push is here)

Any of them you want to read, or have already read?

End of April Book Haul

Another book haul, you say? Why yes. Yes, indeed.

Check them out:

Rogue by Julie Kagawa: I have been waiting and waiting for this book to come out! This is Book Two in the Talon series, the first book being Talon (my 5 star review is here). It's about an ancient war between dragons and dragon hunters, taking place in the modern day setting of California. Both human-shapeshifting dragons and dragon hunters living right under our noses, hunting each other! And though they are sworn enemies, it doesn't exactly stop a young dragon from befriending a dragon hunter. Both completely unaware of each other's true identity, of course...

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein: I actually got this at a book exchange. It's not exactly YA, more so adult fiction. It's about two girls living in World War II: one who is captured, doomed to be executed, and another who has a small chance at surviving it all. One of friends highly recommended it to me at the exchange. It's a sharp turn from all the fantasy I've been reading, so I'll see how it goes...

End of Semester Book Haul

Okay, I'm almost at the end of my term. My motivation to make it through? THESE TWO.
Yes. Yes. YES.

The Perilous Sea, by Sherry Thomas
Remember the review I did on The Burning Sky? This one? Yes? Then you'll recall that I loved it. So much that I had to buy it. Meaning, naturally, I had to get the sequel too. I'm ready to return to a world of magic, one parallel to London 1883, to dragons and elemental magic! (The last book, The Immortal Heights, (check out my cover reveal here) comes out October 13th, 2015, so I'd advise reading The Burning Sky and The Perilous Sea in preparation!)

The Falconer, by Elizabeth May
You may have noted that this book was the last book I reviewed, in which I gave it 5 stars. So yes, I went and bought it. Why wouldn't I? It has an exceptionally strong heroine, tons of action, double lives, basically everything I love in a book! Does it sound like your kind of book? If so, I highly recommend it! To read more, go here :)

That's it for now!

Easter Book Haul

Hello Easter, and hello BOOKS.

Ogle at my new beauties!
AH, I can't wait to read them!

The Red Queen, by Vitoria Aveyard: I've heard so much good stuff about this book! It's about a world where your class is dictated by the color of your blood. Silver blood means you're part of the elite class and have powers, and red blood means you're part of the serving class, without powers. The story is about a girl, Mare, who has red blood, yet has powers. That's supposed to be impossible, but it is...

The Burning Sky, by Sherry Thomas: I loved this book so much that I had to buy it! It mixes fantasy and 19th century London in an epic magical tale. You have disguises, elemental magic, prophecies, portals, powerful mages, everything! To read my review, go here!

Fall With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout: okay, it's technically a NA book, not a YA book, but hey, I do love myself some more Jennifer L. Armentrout books. You can't blame me for loving an author.

And there you have it. My new lovelies! Have you read any of these? If so, let me know so that we can chat about them! :)

Spring Book Haul

What's better than celebrating the beginning of spring with a book haul?
Take look at these new beauties!

I've actually read all these before, which means I'm super excited to re-read them and fall in love with their characters all over again! :)

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi: The epic conclusion to the Shatter Me series! It stars Juliette, who has finally accepted her power to kill people with simply a touch. And there's one man she's out to get...

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin: This is the one book of the four in which I haven't read all the books published in the series yet! But I loved this book so much that I know I'm going to love the rest of them! We have Mara, who can't remember how all her friends died. Lo and behold, it's safe to say she had something to do with it, if only she could remember what... Go here to read more about it! (And in case you're wondering, this book is YA paranormal, not a contemporary mystery of sorts)

Cress by Marissa Meyer: the third book in the Lunar Chronicles series, in which we have an epic retelling of Rapunzel, in line with the stories of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. The cover of the final book just came out, which you can see here, and to read my review of Cress, go here.

Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson: this book holds a very dear spot for this blog. Why? Because it was the first book I ever blogged about! This book features a runaway princess, in which a prince and an assassin are searching for her. To read my (very first!) review, go here.

Now the big question is: where are they going to go on my bookshelf?

Or a better question: do I even have space?

Reading Week 2015 Book Haul

Finally, finally, FINALLY. My first (mini) book haul of the year!

By my definition, a book haul consists of anything more than the purchase of one book at the same time. And thus, this qualifies. So may I present to you...

SNOW LIKE ASHES BY SARA RAASCH AND ENSNARED BY A. G. HOWARD!!!

Eeeeeks, they're so pretty! It's so exciting!!! ^.^

Snow Like Ashes, if I haven't obsessed over it enough, was so good that I had to buy it for myself! And Ensnared, which is the final book to the fantastic Splintered series, is a beautiful Alice In Wonderland somewhat-retelling/continuation. Though I've read and reviewed/obsessed over Snow Like Ashes (you can read my review here), I haven't read Ensnared yet. My to-read-list is quite long at the moment, but at least Ensnared has been bumped up a few notches now that I have a physical copy of it! My review/character session will be up soon once I get through my other books, so look forward to it. ;)

Now the challenge of making room on my bookshelf for them begins...
