Cover Reveal Discussion: Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

THE COVER IS OUT THE COVER IS OUT THE COVER IS OUT!!!

Oh be still my heart, for the cover of Kingdom of Ash is finally out and it. Is. UTTERLY. STUNNING. Sound the trumpets! Cue the fanfare! THE COVER IS OUT!!! And the SYNOPSIS!!!

No time to dally, so here it is:

HOLY GODS HOLY GODS HOLY GODS. I have literal shivers!

This...this completely blows away all expectations I had out of the park. Completely! Maas mentioned that the book is to be printed on gold. Gold! You know how epic this book is going to be when the cover is GOLD. Epic, epic, epic!!!

So much to discuss. I have no idea where to begin. Did I mention that it's gold? Yes? Well, let me tell you again that it's gold

Aelin's outfit. Is. Amazing. And I thought nothing could top her badass outfit on the cover of Empire of Storms? Yeah, well think again. Because her armour. With the blue fabric overlaid by the armour? And the gold markings on the armour itself? It is the fiercest, most battle-ready outfit in the world.

Also, the subtle embers curling around her legs? Specifically stemming around the letter "A" in the word "Ash"? Love it. It's like that tiny spark that you know can so easily grow into a raging firestorm, if Aelin desires it. But I'm also loving how her magic isn't the main focus of this cover, like the last cover (which was also spectacular). It speaks to how this time, Aelin doesn't need to depend solely on magic to win this war. Magic is just a tool, but the most deadly weapon she has is herself.

Plus her pose is dead solitary. No flashy magic, no distractions. All attention is just her. She's standing tall and straight, with Goldryn just as imposing upright before her. Everything about this screams queen. Queen of Terrassen, queen of magic, queen of battles and wars, queen queen queen!!!

Ahhhh, I'm going to absolutely die from this cover. It is magnificent, worthy of the final cover. And it's going to look amazing on my bookshelf!!!

Here's a quick reminder for the synopsis in case you missed it:

Aelin has risked everything to save her people―but at a tremendous cost. Locked within an iron coffin by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin must draw upon her fiery will as she endures months of torture. Aware that yielding to Maeve will doom those she loves keeps her from breaking, though her resolve begins to unravel with each passing day…

With Aelin captured, Aedion and Lysandra remain the last line of defense to protect Terrasen from utter destruction. Yet they soon realize that the many allies they’ve gathered to battle Erawan’s hordes might not be enough to save them. Scattered across the continent and racing against time, Chaol, Manon, and Dorian are forced to forge their own paths to meet their fates. Hanging in the balance is any hope of salvation―and a better world.

And across the sea, his companions unwavering beside him, Rowan hunts to find his captured wife and queen―before she is lost to him forever.

As the threads of fate weave together at last, all must fight, if they are to have a chance at a future. Some bonds will grow even deeper, while others will be severed forever in the explosive final chapter of the Throne of Glass series.

That's enough fangirling from me now. What do you guys think of the cover? Any predictions as to what's going to happen? Let me know! Chat with me! Join my fangirling!!!

But most of all, happy reading :)
